Profile of Carie Shedlock.		I would like to highly recommend a short term mission trip to anyone who may be considering a calling to do so.  I had an incredible time!  During our experience participating in construction of a new church building and VBS for children I really learned how far you can push yourself in service.  There were days we were tired but excited about what God is doing in the lives of these people.        I especially enjoyed the children of San Juan.  They are all very lovable and friendly.  Although my Spanish speaking ability is very limited the adults and children were patient and usually we could communicate by using gestures.      I will never forget my experience in the Dominican Republic.  I went wanting to serve and empower these people to serve each other through ministry but in turn I received much more than I could ever give.
